Our 'split' may be news to a lot of folk but it's not to us, it's something with been chewing over for a while for various reasons, most of them pretty obvious ones, as a very wise man once said "all things must pass" ... i only make this point because i truly believed when the time came to make the announcement it would have very little emotional impact on me ... i was wrong. the messages on here and elsewhere, the blogs,, the calls, e-mails, texts, i even got a letter this morning ... a fuckin' letter! i haven't had a bluetones related letter for 10 years, i feel really humbled by the heartfelt nature of people's sentiments, i don't mind admitting a few tears were shed last night, i know now not to read this stuff after putting away a botttle and a half of chardonnay. anyhoo ... i'm keeping it together today but just wanted to say again: thank you ya soppy bastards, you've made a washed-up pop star feel almost proud.

I just hope we can give you guys the send-off you deserve. I said it elsewhere on my blog but it warrants repeating, my life would be considerably less without your music. Damn, if this is what we're like in March how emotional are we gonna get in September?

De-lurking to say, I'm weeping into my Bluetones fish mug. Which I will be using exclusively from now on.
I identify with so much of what Paulo said. I always felt so lucky that aged 13, I pretty much randomly spent my long-saved-up pocket money on ETF instead of the countless other CDs on my list. There literally aren't any other bands I liked then that I still like now.

I haven't posted here for a while, I much prefere to lurk but this thread made me sad, I'm not ready to be happy about what we had yet, and feel I had to at least write something so I felt included!
Adam, I can't believe you thought we wouldn't react like this, do you not know us at all by now? But to read your words on how humbled we've made you feel proves to me you've deserved everything people have said here!
Aaron sums it up best tho 'if we're like this now, God help us come September!!!'
Thanks for the memories!!!

Thanks Adam, I'm glad my words moved you and managed to provoke others in to sharing their happy memories of you over the years. Choosing your favourite band is a difficult choice in your early years - a bit like choosing your football team - but I'm glad I chose you lot (Stone me, it could have been Kulashaker and my first born might have been called 'Govinda' *shudders*).
I think like many others when I got in to the Bluetones I was merely a child, so when I see you lot live I go flying back to my foppish youth. I once went in to 'Our Price' in Boscombe and swapped all the Babylon Zoo 'Spaceman' copies with 'Slight Return' so that they were number 2 and you were number 1....pathetic I know, but some of the ageing population of Boscombe may still think you had a number one to this day! I returned to the same store 7 years later and moved all the copies of 'Luxembourg' to the 'album of the week' section in a vain attempt to boost sales (I believe you owe me £1.26 in royalties for this, but I'll let it pass).
Really looking forward to the tour, good luck choosing the setlist - if it was me it would be 5 hours long......

It's a lovely read, all the blogs have been and I identify so much with parts of them all. I can't quite express how I feel about it all, I haven't dared to write it down yet as it spans 17 years, and particularly the last four years (where I've met some amazing, wonderful and crazy people) and I'm afraid it would go on for pages. I also think by not writing about it I continue in my denial of it all actually happening ;D thank you to all of you who know how to write, and I know most of us can relate to what you've shared.
