Interesting place, lots of concrete, and I mean lots, and not the most welcoming of locals, although the staff in the venue were great.
They didn't come on until 10.15 which was a bit of a pain in the arse as it meant getting a cab home, but they were on good form, more banter from Mark than normal and funnier too. Some technical hiccups on Adam's guitar, which meant Teenage Jesus and Carnt Be Trusted got swapped around on the set, also got a bit of the Sweeney theme.
Setlist Solomon Bites The Worm Bluetonic A New Athens Keep The Home Fires Burning Cut Some Rug The Culling Song Carnt Be Trusted (first attempt) I Was A Teenage Jesus Head On A Spike Carry Me Home Sleazy Bed Track Between Clark And Hilldale Slight Return The Day That Never Was Marblehead Johnson Never Going Nowhere
Carnt Be Trusted If
Would hope they'll see sense and drop the cover. It's their farewell tour and most people want to hear Bluetones songs.

If that's the farewell tour setlist, or very similar to it, than that's really fucking disappointing. Isn't that basically the setlist they've been doing for the past 2 years? And you'd think they'd do some longer setlists this time too.

I'd expect that to still be the festival warmup setlist... they were still missing the keyboard player last night.

Not much from Science and Nature but other than that i'm quite happy with it.

Well, you're easily pleased then as it isn't any different than setlist from the past couple of years!? And seriously, who wants or needs to hear 4 tracks from the last album, which Mark himself admitted they didn't put much effort in to? Playing rubbish like Carry Me Home and the Culling Song during farewell shows would be misjudging things slightly I reckon. I was looking forward to these gigs, as I thought they might finally put some effort into their lives shows!

I'd rather not hear The Culling Song but then i'd happily not hear Slight Return at all on the farewell tour. I do want songs off the last album and hope The Day That Never Was stays in the set at least. As i said other than them not playing hardly anything off Science and Nature i'm quite happy with it as its a good mixture of classics and newer stuff.

Out of that lot I'd keep:
Keep The Home Fires Burning Cut Some Rug The Culling Song I Was A Teenage Jesus Marblehead Johnson Never Going Nowhere If
And stick in:
Zorrro Slackjaw Emily's Pine Here It Comes Again Little Bear I Love The City Turn It Up Serenity Now Mine In The Morning Surrendered Baby, Back Up My Neighbour's House The Last Song But One
I would also add Broken Starr as the final song in Japan, before setting off the nuclear devices to blow the whale-murderers into oblivion and prevent an embarrassing come-back attempt in 2012.
