Hello all,
As no one seems to have come up with a plan as such, and as I live in London and work 10 mins walk from the Shepherds Bush Empire I thought I'd make a suggestion or two regarding possible drinks pre and post gig that people may or may not want to partake in.
Personally I will be going straight from work (around 6pm) to a non remarkable but also inoffensive pub called The Bull which is right by Shepherd Bush Central Line station at one of the entrances to the massive Westfield Shopping Centre. www.thebullatwestfield.co.uk/ This may appeal to some, and it's not far from the venue.
Shepherds Bush doesn't have great boozers but the best local pub (which is also very near the venue) is the Defectors Weld defectors-weld.com/. It's a good pub but the downside of this place is that it does get very busy and isn't cheap (but not horrific). Depending on how things are going in The Bull I may also head there pre gig.
Afterwards there is the party at Ginglik www.ginglik.co.uk/?page_id=1871 The Ginglik is walking distance from the venue but will set you back £10 to get in and it will consist of more bands etc playing which may be fun.. the downside for many of you is that it's in West London and so if you are staying in Kings Cross it will be an expensive cab journey home afterwards...
I will probably head to The Lexington which is between Kings Cross and Angel (Islington). It's close walking distance from where many are staying (The Kings Cross Royal Scot Travelodge) and it's a really nice pub/venue with decent music and lots of good looking people (I can't guarantee this). If you jump on the tube after the gig you can avoid expensive taxi's and, it's open till 4am!
Hope my suggestions are good for some of you, and hope to catch up with a few of you at some point!
Chris
