... bothers you about the last Tones gigs being in Japan?

Because their last gig should be at least in their own country and more specificially London. And if the band are so popular in Japan to warrant the last gig being there, why do they never ever play there and why was Science and Nature the last album to be released over there? If they had a sizeable fanbase in Japan a record company over there would have signed them and financed touring.

maybe they felt it was just a perfect opportunity for the band to go abroad together one last time, see a country they'd been to before, and have some fun. doesnt bother me in the slightest. as to whether it'll make them any money, i doubt it.

Nothing bothers me about it but it does take the shine a little out of the Birmingham gig. Would have been quite emotional seeing them play for their last time.

Well, if I was in the band and got offered the chance to play abroad one last time, I reckon I'd take it too. Fair play to them for it, I guess, but it does feel a little bit of a swizz to say Birmingham was the last gig...and then add on Japan.
The more cynical side of me wonders if we might be ending up with a Carter The Unstoppable Sex Machine situation where the band has "officially" split up, but get back together every Christmas or so for a "one-off, honest, no more ever" gig every year...

To be fair, they never actually said Birmingham was completely the last gig ever, everyone else just looked at the tour list and made that assumption themselves.
I can't see it being like Carter USM just because I can't see them saying "that's it, no more ever". Every time I've heard someone question Mark about it there has never been a definitive no more ever... because you just don't know what'll happen in the future. They certainly don't sound like they're expecting a big reunion tour in a few years, but that doesn't mean they're going to say there'll NEVER be another Bluetones gig, just to try and squeeze a little bit more money out of everyone, because that's not the sort of band they are.

Well, it says its their "final farewell tour" at the top of this very site! That sounds pretty certain, even though I'd like there to be more Bluetones gigs as much as anyone here would.
You can certainly understand people making the assumption Brum was the last gig, though, not just from the tour list, but from the proof copy of Scott's poster (which doesn't have Tokyo on it). Like I say, fair play, if it was me being offered a gig in Japan, I'd go too!

Here's why it bothers me: These things are loaded with PCBs and other carcinogenic nasties, so why would you kill them for food? On the plus side, at least one of the towns responsible has decided to stop for some reason...
