No doubt negotiations are underway for whoever will support on the farewell tour, it might even be decided already, but just for fun, who would you pick to be your ideal support bands for September? You can choose two bands and they can be from current music scene or the past, still together or long broken up, or no longer with us. Go!

I'd nominate the two bands I'm stuck on having been to 9 of their gigs, The Ramones and Kitchens of Distinction. In terms of current bands I'd go with Delays and Delays, and if those useless twats The Charlatans turn up then I'm not going.

To open with we have Stoney, no doubt about that, as soon as I read the question he jumped straight to mind. I would love nothing more than to see this man do a gig with the Bluetones (the sound's a bit off, but what do you expect, he is on first).
Then we go onto Broken Bells. This one took a bit more thinking, not seen them before so can't promise quality, but I would love to... and I might as well get to see a new band on this tour. They should help get a bit of a crowd too (and the boys definitely aren't gonna complain about this choice).
Which can all lead onto this:
Although with Stoney and Morriss both being Marks I was tempted to try and go for the triple... just to make backstage really confusing. Eels maybe?

if Philip was still on here, i'd say Matt Berry just to see him implode at the thought

Dodgy and Chris Helme are both playing the little Brooklands Tap festival thing in Sale the same day as the Bluetones Manchester gig. If only that were properly timed you could have your wish!

OR, for every time you've searched somewhere for the Bluetones and that damn Sugar Ray & the Bluetones keep popping up instead, they should join forces with these lot to really confuse the world:
